Foundations Programme – Strengthening Prevention Approaches To Address Gender-Based Violence In the Caribbean Brochure
Designed for young people aged 13 to 24, The Foundations Programme is a programme aimed at the prevention of Gender-Based Violence (GBV).
Gender-based discrimination and gender-based violence are fuelled by gender hierarchies and by an imbalance in gender power relations. Foundations is based on the premise that violence is intentional, and that abusive behaviours are chosen methods for gaining control over persons and situations. People who perpetrate violence are solely responsible for their actions and victims of violence should never share blame or responsibility for the actions of others.
