UN Women MCO - Caribbean calls on the Region to join the #PushForward Challenge

As the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence begins, the UN Women Multi-Country Office - Caribbean is calling on individuals, organisations, and communities to join their social media campaign, #PushForward, running from November 25 to December 10.

This year’s theme, "Push Forward: Invest to End Violence Against Women and Girls", highlights the urgent need for collective action and targeted investments to ensure women and girls live in safety and dignity.

In the Caribbean, our data shows that across the five countries where national surveys have been undertaken to measure the prevalence of gender-based violence, on average 46% of women have experienced at least 1 form of violence in her lifetime. Violence against women and girls is endemic across the five countries. 

How to Participate in the #PushForwardTogether Pledge Challenge

1. Watch
   Watch this special video message from Tonni Brodber, UN Women MCO - Caribbean Representative, to understand why this challenge is vital.
2. Record
   Create a short video pledging an action to help end violence against women and girls. Perform the "push forward" gesture and challenge another individual or organization to join.
3. Share
   Post your video on social media with the hashtag #PushForward. Tag the individual or organisation you challenged, and don’t forget to tag @UNWomenCaribbean to spread the message further.
4. Engage
   Keep the momentum going by encouraging your followers to join. Tag others in your comments to grow the challenge's impact.
5. Collaborate
   Partner with an organisation to record a joint video showcasing how you work together to end violence against women and girls. Wrap up with the #PushForward gesture.
