Welcome to the Equality Village!

The Equality Village – Entrepreneurial Marketplace is taking place within the framework of the Gender Equality Forum.

The Equality Village – Entrepreneurial Marketplace showcases the products of 30 women owned MSMEs from 12 countries across the Caribbean and Pacific. These businesses have been selected to showcase the diverse cultures, flavours and natural environments of the SIDS.

Women’s economic empowerment is intrinsically linked to the advancement of key issues surrounding gender equality and women’s empowerment.  Ensuring equal opportunities for women-led businesses generates wider economic, social and environmental benefits.

The Equality Village – Entrepreneurial Marketplace offers the opportunity to view  the unique products from the SIDS while engaging  with the entrepreneurs themselves. They each have their story of empowerment and ground the conversations around challenges and opportunities facing small island development states, particularly in view of operating micro and small enterprises as well as shifting harmful gender norms around women’s entrepreneurship.
