PowerHERful Women

Kingston, Jamaica: In a Tribute to PowerHERful Women - #Her Legacy, Women's Empowerment for Change (WE-Change) celebrated the life, work and impact of 16 cross-generational women who “Step It Up for Gender Equality” in their families, communities, organisations, the nation and the wider Caribbean region. 

With the support of UN Women MCO Caribbean and NGO J-FLAG, the #HerLegacy event honoured the women through a gallery and exhibition, citations and awards.

UN Women Deputy Representative Tonni Brodber delivered remarks to a stellar gathering of key partners and stakeholders of WE-Change, including from the NGO community – JASL, VERJ, the 51% Coalition (coalition of women’s NGOs), the University of West Mona Institute for Gender and Development Studies, UWI Leads, JASL, members of VERJ, Woman Inc, UWI LEADS, UN resident agencies in Jamaica - UNDP, UNAIDS, UNICEF, as well as the Colour Pink, Digicel Foundation, Respect Jamaica, Stella Marris Foundation.
