UN Women plans to award small grants to eligible Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) based in Jamaica to contribute to the Spotlight Initiative objectives to prevent and end family violence. The vision of the Spotlight Initiative (SI) is that the rights of women and girls to live free from violence are protected, promoted, and upheld. The impact that the SI will work towards achieving is that all women and girls, particularly those who are most vulnerable, live a life free of violence and harmful practices. UN Women plans to award small grants to eligible Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) based in Jamaica to contribute to the Spotlight Initiative objectives to prevent and end family violence.

Grant Purpose: To support the implementation of issue-based advocacy initiatives which engage key stakeholders, parliamentarians and policymakers to influence laws and policies, and with media to promote gender-responsive messages on ending violence against women and girls; and which promote coalition-building as a part of the Spotlight Initiative.

Eligible Organisations: Civil society and other not-for-profit organisations in Jamaica working with youth, women and girls and other marginalised groups or addressing Family Violence and VAWG.
**NOTE: eligible organisations must be legally registered and operational for 3 or more years

Amount:

  • Individual Proposals: Ceiling of USD 10,000
  • Joint proposals with two (2) or more CSOs: Ceiling of USD 20,000

Duration: Between June and December 2022
