This Call for Small Grants seeks to engage on social accountability for legislation and the conduct of service providers to specific at risk groups, including at-risk youth and network building among CSOs to support social justice activism on GBV and Family Violence

Under the Regional Spotlight Initiative, UN Women plans to award Small Grants to eligible organisations to scale up their technical substantive capacity to prevent and respond to Family Violence. Ongoing applications accepted.

UN Women MCO Caribbean is planning a Caribbean CSO Movement-Building Retreat to provide space for CSOs to strategise and respond to challenges facing women's organisations, in particular those addressing Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) and its intersections. Scheduled to be held in the third week of July, the event falls under the global Spotlight Initiative, launched in 2017 by the United Nations with financing from the European Union. This initiative aims to eliminate all forms of violence against women and girls by the year 2030.

Autonomous social movements and relevant CSOs, including those representing youth and groups facing multiple and intersecting forms of discrimination/marginalization, more effectively influence and advance progress on GEWE and ending VAWG. Resources are being made available under Outcome 1 and the Spotlight Initiative in Jamaica and Caribbean Regional programme respectively for non-governmental organisations to provide regional programmatic support to the UN Women MCO Caribbean.

The UN Women Multi-Country Office (MCO) Caribbean is seeking to partner with a Civil Society Organizations (CSO) to train and mentor/support champions, particularly faith-based leaders, for their visible advocacy role on Family Violence at the national level and working with other CSOs at community level

To support the women farmers during this crisis, UN Women has re-oriented its project, which initially intended to establish a seed bank to guard against future disasters. The project will now temporarily pivot to connect farmers to new outlets and market opportunities.

Building on the lessons learned from its pilot work with rural women small farmers and decent work interventions with Caribbean domestic workers, the MCO Caribbean is broadening its partnerships to address the economic vulnerability of poor rural women-headed households.

UN initiated gender and child assessments of Country Poverty Assessments of Dominica, Grenada, Saint Lucia, Antigua and Barbuda, Saint Kitts and Nevis and the British Virgin Islands, the final results of which will be available in a few weeks, will further enrich the evidence base to inform gender and child responsive social policies in the sub region.
