It is with great pleasure that we are able to announce the appointment of the new Representative for UN Women MCO-Caribbean Ms. M. Alison McLean.

Alison brings over 30 years of experience in international relations, project management and leadership. Throughout her career, enhancing gender equality and human rights have been constantly at the forefront of her work. Until recently, Alison served as the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sports in Jamaica. Prior to her appointment as Permanent Secretary Alison served as the Chief Technical Director/Principal Director of the Office of the Prime Minister in Jamaica.

Alison has served across the Caribbean and the US to advocate for the rights of the most vulnerable. She worked as a Special Advocate for Children in the US, across the Caribbean supporting Children’s Services, and served as the Chief Executive Officer for the Child Development Agency in Jamaica. Alison also spent nearly two (2) decades lecturing at the University of the West Indies on International Relations and Negotiations. The MCO team is very happy and excited to have Alison on board.
